By Amanda Guy Well I've done it! I've finally had some free time to sit down and pull images for my signs portfolio!
This is one of my favorite projects that I've taken on over the years. There's just something about Neon and classic signage that makes me really happy. Creating neon signs is such an art form and I think the nostalgia of them is what grabs my attention the most. I like to put myself back in time and imagine what it must have been like to walk down main street with nothing but lights and colors glowing off the sides of brick and stone. It saddens me that these beautiful pieces of art are disappearing more and more as the years fly by. I feel like we should be preserving these pieces of art and refurbishing them back to their original glory! Please enjoy what I have up thus far of my signs project, and please don't hesitate to call me if you have questions about a particular image, and if you're interested in prints. HAPPY THURSDAY!

By Amanda Guy To my surprise I opened up my web browser one day, only to discover that Wix had taken down my site. No warning, just poof! GONE!
This lead to a great opportunity to redesign & build my photography site. Plus, I've never really branded my photography business and as a graphic designer that's kind of a "No-No". (palm to face) But here I am developing my very own photography website to be bigger and better than ever on a Saturday. And to be totally honest...it's quite fun! I feel very productive and I have sort of been neglecting my business for the last few months. I mean when I have a job I do the work, get the photographs edited and send them off to client as per usual, but I haven't spent time really developing my brand identity so at least this is a start. New Logo, new website, new brand colors & some never before seen photographs that have just been collecting dust on my hard drive. Check out the site, send feedback if you like, or just give me a call and let's talk photo sessions! 2015 was one of the craziest years so far. Little did I know that opting to go back to school for two semesters would give me the skills and knowledge I needed to make myself far more marketable and Creative than I've ever been. (well at least that's how I feel at this moment) I mean that was the point of going back to school, but I'm just happy that it was indeed a good idea and actually worked!
A little over two months ago one of the coolest things happened. I received two job offers in one week. The kicker in this is that I didn't even apply for either job. How did I get to that point? Could this really be happening to me? It's one of those things that felt like a complete and utter dream. How is it possible that two epic companies want me at the same time. Now here's the other kicker...One job is in Whitefish Montana, a place near and dear to my heart. Montana is my home, my heart and soul belong here, so could it really be that I have the opportunity to continue to work in the field I love for my career in the greatest Valley on earth? But wait...JUST WAIT! |
