6TH GENERATION MONTANAN

Amanda lives for the thrill of being behind the camera. From portraiture to food and wine, engagements and still life, and a general love for being in the Darkroom, each new job brings the opportunity to capture new perspectives, create memories, and challenge to generate art that tells a story. Her addiction to photography began when she was given her first 35mm film camera for her 16th birthday. What began as a childhood hobby quickly morphed into a lifelong career.

In order to follow her dreams and expand her knowledge Amanda received an Associate of Arts Degree in Photography from FVCC in 2006 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the School of Film and Photography at Montana State University in 2009, followed by a Certificate of Applied Science in Graphic Design in 2015.

In 2010, she caught her big photography break by landing a job with legendary photographer Kurt Markus. Through her work with Markus as his primary assistant on the field and in the studio, Amanda has had the opportunity to assist and engage in photographic assignments for American Cowboy, People Magazine, Men’s Journal, Armani, Dodge/Chrysler, and in the Fall of 2012 the Six Man football Documentary, 'SIX MAN: Two Teams. One Season,' where Markus gave Guy a movie camera and said, “GO!.”

In 2015 Amanda earned a degree in Graphic Design from Flathead Valley Community College. A true Montanan at heart, when not designing branding packages for clients or out in the field taking photographs, Amanda can be found golfing, hunting, wakeboarding, backpacking, fishing, mountain biking, or snowboarding.
